Emily is originally from Cincinnati, OH and currently resides in Grand Rapids, MI with her husband, Marty.  She competed for The Ohio State University from 2002-2004 and coached from 2004-2010.   Emily served as a National SAFECON host school officer in 2002, 2006, and 2007.  She has judged since 2005, serving as Region III Chief Judge in 2006 and National SAFECON Chief Judge in 2015.

Professionally, Emily is a Boeing 717 Captain for Delta Air Lines in DTW and assists in the airline’s pilot recruitment and Propel pilot path efforts.  She holds ATP-AMEL, Commercial ASEL, CFI, CFII, and MEI certificates and is type rated in the CL-65, EMB145, B737, and DC9.

Emily owns a Cessna 180 with her husband, Marty. She also enjoys time at the lake, cooking, and even curated a family cookbook.
