Jared resides in Spokane, WA.  He competed for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Prescott from 1998-2001 and coached 2002-2003, 2005-2008, and 2014.  He has judged since 2011, and served as the National SAFECON Chief Judge in 2018.

Professionally, Jared is a AVR-146 Captain for Aero-Flite Aerial Firefighting.  He holds ATP and CFI certificates.

When not working, Jared spends time skiing in the winter or flying his Cessna 170 in the Idaho backcountry in the summer.
